A bit of a chat

Basically it's poetry. The colours, the textures, the rhythm, the space the objects occupy. It is how we as humans behave. How we are present in a certain situation.

The object in this setting have all their own space, direction and relationship with one other. As we learn to read body language, so have the objects their own body language. Some face each other, others turn half their body wanting to leave. Some bend forwards to listen more attentively . All the gestures of the objects create in the end a tension, a story.

The story is partly reflective. Like a deck of tarot cards. You can read in the cards what is on your mind at that moment. Like a mirror, you ask the question and you get the answer that lingers in your mind.

We tend to humanize things, to see faces in the clouds, to hear voices in the night. Our imagination can run wild if we want to, and sometimes if we don't want to. (to worry is to fantasize in the wrong direction...)

The combination of objects makes the narrative. Like a dinner party the conversations depend on the people present. With some friends you talk politics, others about astronomy and others favorite films. Some combinations of friends work, others don't.

When I work on my set of objects I work like if I'm preparing a dinner for friends. Carefully choosing the objects that fit together, that will result in interesting conversations. The object become personalities. Depending on how they are put in a space and together with whom they start to reveal themselves.

That's where it becomes interesting.
